John Clayton

John Clayton is the author of Wonderlandscape: Yellowstone National Park and the Evolution of an American Icon, published by Pegasus Books in August. His previous books include Stories from Montana’s Enduring Frontier and The Cowboy Girl: The Life of Caroline Lockhart, which was named a finalist for the High Plains Book Award and a Best Book of the Year by the website NewWest.net. Clayton writes regularly for the Montana Quarterly Big Sky Journal, and WyoHistory.org; he’s also had recent work in Salon, Magic (City) Magazine, and High Desert Journal. As a freelance business writer, his ghostwritten work has appeared in Bloomberg BusinessWeek, TechCrunch, and IndustryWeek, and on microsoft.com, hp.com, and economist.com. A regular presenter at the Montana Book Festival and Montana Festival of the Book, Clayton lives in Red Lodge.
