Keith McCafferty

Keith McCafferty is the Survival and Outdoor Skills editor of Field & Stream and the author of the Sean Stranahan mystery series, including The Royal Wulff Murders, The Gray Ghost Murders, Dead Man's Fancy, Crazy Mountain Kiss, which won the Western Writers of America 2016 Spur Award for Best Western Contemporary Novel, Buffalo Jump Blues, a must-read pick by O, The Oprah Magazine, and Cold Hearted River, published by Viking/Penguin Books on the Fourth of July, 2017.

Winner of the Traver Award for best angling literature and the 2016 Western Writer's of America Spur Award for Best Contemporary Western Novel, Keith is a two-time National Magazine Awards finalist, a two-time High Plains Book Awards finalist for the Novel, a finalist for the Nero Award for Best Mystery, and twice a finalist for the Will Rodgers Medallion Award for Best Western Fiction.

He lives with his wife, cat, and, as a wild bird rescue volunteer, various feathered friends, in southwest Montana.
