Ken Robison
Ken Robison is a historian and preservationist and a chronicler of neglected Western history at the Overholser Historical Research Center in Fort Benton. He was born and educated in Montana, and after graduating from the University of Montana, served thirty years in Naval Intelligence. The Montana Historical Society honored Robinson as "Montana Heritage Keeper" in 2010 for his pathbreaking work on African American history in Montana. He is the author of six books including Montana Territory and the Civil War: A Frontier Forged on the Battlefield; Confederates in Montana Territory: In the Shadow of Price’s Army; and Yankees and Rebels on the Upper Missouri: Steamboats, Gold and Peace. He also co-authored three books: The Mullan Road; Montana A Cultural Medley; and Beyond Schoolmarms and Madams: Montana Women’s Stories.
